About Me
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters to compare to what lies within us.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
LENORE DUNMORE
I am a BACP Registered and Accredited Integrative Counsellor. I was trained at the University of East London and qualified in 1999 as a therapeutic Counsellor. I have worked in education, disability, addiction and mental health and with people of different ages and cultural backgrounds.
If you are curious as to what motivated me to become a counsellor; I can confidently say it was my own personal life experiences that led me to becoming a client and ultimately motivated me to become a counsellor. I wanted to share this positive experience with others, to be a part of an organisation that supports and promotes mental health and values people. I do this by creating a safe space where others may hopefully, find it a positive experience too.
I have lectured in counselling skills and on Personal Development courses which means I have the knowledge and skills to understand that people learn in different ways and at different paces. Besides my practice I have worked at Mind and Off the Record. I am also an Affiliate Counsellor for several Employee Assistant Programme (EAP) providers. My own Personal Therapy was essential in giving me some understanding as to how vulnerable clients may feel at this time. I have a wealth of life experience and I am able to empathise on an experiential level.
