Do not give the past the power to define who you are

Supervision

Clinical supervision is a structured process that provides support, reflection, feedback and learning to enhance skills, knowledge and confidence to practice.

In order to practise ethically, I work within the British Association Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions. This ensures that I am supported and guided in the service that I offer.

Choosing the right supervisor can be a hit and miss. Importance is given to the relationship and the shared sense of the in between. I feel that a starting question you may want to consider is: What am I looking for in a supervisor? Is this the right supervisor for me and why?

My aim is to encourage you to prepare for supervision, to prioritise what you bring to supervision and to consider what it is you are looking to get from it. This will enable you to focus and work more effectively in the best interest of the client.

Reflection on your work is a big part of supervision. I will encourage the habit of reflecting on your work regularly to help you identify areas to develop or things that you may find challenging.

I have provided supervision for many years and was trained within an integrative model.

I hold a Diploma in Clinical Counselling Supervision -Level 7: Post Professional. I also have a Teaching Certificate in Adult Learning.

The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy suggested 1.5 hours per calendar month as minimum supervision hours needed by all counsellors. This however, can be increased and is dependent on your individual needs, number of clients and professional development.

I provide supervision to qualified and trainee Counsellors face to face, online, or via telephone, whichever suits your needs best.

Our first meeting is also to assess: the level you are at in your training or experience, what are your expectations from supervision, and the model in which you were trained.

At the end of the meeting hopefully, we will have agreed a working contract. This will include fees, cancellation, venue and our responsibility to each other for the purpose of supervision.

Should you wish to apply for BACP Accreditation; I will offer you support and guidance throughout the process.

Client Testimonial

"Within minutes of meeting Lenore I knew she would be the one to support me.

Lenore had a calming sage-like presence with incredible listening skills. Her ability to empathise and hold the much needed space for me to explore various topics was a God send. Over the 20 sessions we had together she would often ask simple yet powerful questions that would lead to insightful reflections and breakthroughs.

A year later, I am in an amazing place having made peace with the challenges I faced coupled with greater resilience and energy than ever before. I cannot thank her enough for supporting me in getting my life together in such a wonderful way. The supportive exploration and challenge Lenore offered me has been instrumental to the success I am enjoying now in my relationships, not least with myself, and my work."

"Working with Lenore as my clinical supervisor over the past six years has been one of the most valuable parts of my professional journey. Her consistent encouragement, deep insight, and genuine commitment to my growth have helped shape the confidence I hold in my practice today.

Lenore has a talent for creating a supportive space with compassion & clarity, while encouraging you to be great and grow in the best ways. I truly believe in the impact she makes. If you're looking for a thoughtful, experienced, and empowering supervisor, I can't recommend Lenore enough."

-  Supervisee

"Lenore has been my supervisor for the last 6 years. We have developed a very good working relationship. Lenore blends being very professional with being approachable and personable. In our work together, she has supported my development as a counsellor and, more recently, as a supervisor.

As a supervisor, Lenore models a way of being with me that I want to be with my own supervisees. In our time together, Lenore encourages me to explore my feelings and my work with clients, often challenging my thinking and always putting the clients’ best interests and safe practice at the heart of our sessions. Lenore too, is a supervisor who is able to see me, her supervisee, as a person with her own needs and feelings and someone who is more than just a supervisee."
